MY STORY, IN SONG.

Curated Vocal Selections of

Joslin Romphf Dennis, soprano

Singing is one of the greatest joys of my life. Performing has been a part of my soul since I was 3 years old, and dancing in the aisles! I was, and am, very, very lucky to get to make music with some of the foremost musicians of my generation. Below you will find an extensive selection of the repertoire I have explored and continue to explore in my singing career. I have shared the things that I consider to be cornerstones of my education in becoming the singer I am today. You’ll find standard repertoire in the form of arias, concert arias, and art songs; song cycles, chamber works, and arias by celebrated 20th-century composers — something of a specialty of mine, and a genre I have a huge affinity for; and finally, excerpts from the seminal Verdi Requiem, one of the great thrills of my performing career. There is also a link to Soundcloud at the very bottom of the page of a really fun singer/songwriter project I developed for a music festival in Montreal — so scroll through and check it all out!

I hope you enjoy the sampling below!

My Love Story: Unplugged

This is one of the most fun projects I’ve ever taken on. With my pianist, Alberto Santos, I created a show of popular singer/songwriters selections that took the listener on a journey through the love story I have been lucky enough to experience with the love of my love, my husband James. These songs helped me to say things that I wanted to say, in front of the whole world, in a way that can only be done in song. Click on the Soundcloud link below, and take this journey with me!

Sing again, with your dear voice revealing

A tone

Of some world far from ours,

Where music and moonlight and feeling

Are one.
